What we collect

When you request a quote or book a job we collect what you give us: name, phone number, email, service address or ZIP, photos of items you want removed, and details about the job. During your visit, the estimator keeps first- and latest-touch referral or ad-campaign tags, the landing-page path, and the referring site’s hostname so the source can stay attached when you move between our pages. If you arrive from a ChatGPT ad, those tags can include OpenAI’s opaque oppref click reference. If you submit a quote or booking request while measurement is allowed, that non-contact attribution is attached to the temporary estimator record. If you have opted out or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the OpenAI reference is removed before submission. Our analytics tools additionally record the pages you visit, basic device and browser information, and a playback of how you moved through the page — see “Tracking and browser signals” below for what is masked out of that and how to stop it entirely.

Automatically, on every request. Our hosting provider records standard server-request information, including your IP address, the time of the request and your browser’s user-agent string. This is used for security, abuse prevention and rate limiting, not to build a profile of you.

When you continue to book, you leave this site. Choosing a time and entering your booking details happens on a booking and job-management platform we use, hosted at clienthub.getjobber.com. That provider collects and holds your booking and job records on our behalf, and its own privacy policy applies to that page in addition to this one. The internal estimate reference and ordinary source, medium, campaign and term tags travel to that platform so your quote can be matched to your booking; the OpenAI oppref does not.

How we use it

To quote, schedule, and perform your service; to send booking confirmations and service updates by text or email; to process payments through our payment processor; and to understand which advertising brings customers to us when analytics or advertising measurement has not been opted out. We do not use your contact information for promotional texts or email unless you separately give affirmative marketing consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time, including by replying STOP to a text.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information — we have never taken money for it and will not. We disclose it only to the service providers needed to run the business, and only for those purposes: the booking and job-management platform described above, its card-payment processing, the phone and messaging service that carries calls and texts to our business number, our website host, and the analytics and advertising-measurement providers described under “Tracking and browser signals”, including Meta and OpenAI.

Advertising measurement, stated plainly. California law uses the word “share” in a specific way for some advertising disclosures. The Meta Pixel reports browser activity for Facebook and Instagram advertising. Separately, our server may report a confirmed lead or scheduled job to OpenAI so we can measure which ChatGPT ads produced real business. Turning off browser measurement and OpenAI measurement for future estimator handoffs takes one click on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, and there is no penalty for using it: the price is the same, the service is the same. If you already submitted an estimator record, call or text us with its quote reference so we can suppress that record’s advertising measurement.

Tracking and browser signals

Google Analytics 4. This site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to count visits and see which pages and which cities bring people to us. It sets its own cookies and sends Google your IP address (truncated), the pages you view, and whether you tapped call, text or book. We run it in analytics-only mode: Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so your activity here is not used to build an advertising profile or followed across other websites. We do not use it to identify you personally. Google’s handling of that data is covered by its own privacy policy.

Microsoft Clarity. This site also uses Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, to see how pages are used rather than just how often: it records a playback of your visit — mouse movement, taps, scrolling and the pages you move through — and combines those into anonymous heatmaps. We use it for one purpose: finding the places where the estimator or the booking steps confuse people, so we can fix them. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not link it to your booking.

What Clarity is blocked from recording. Anything you type is masked before it leaves your browser — the job-details box and the safety confirmation are masked explicitly by us, on top of Clarity’s own rule that the contents of form fields are never captured. Masked content is not uploaded. Your name, phone, email and service address are entered on our booking provider’s own pages, which Clarity does not run on and cannot record at all. What we deliberately allow it to see is our own published content: the price the estimator showed you, the load size, and the appointment times offered. Microsoft’s handling of the data it receives is covered by its own privacy statement.

Your opt-out is automatic and we honour it in code. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or has “Do Not Track” switched on, none of the three browser tools on this site is loaded at all on your visit: no script, no cookie, no recording, no request to Google, Microsoft or Meta. The same check is stored with an estimator handoff; when measurement is denied, the OpenAI click reference is discarded and that handoff cannot become an OpenAI server-side conversion. There is no banner to dismiss and no preference screen to find, because the check happens before anything loads. This is our Notice of Right to Opt Out of Sharing. You can exercise it two ways, both free and neither requiring an account: click Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, which stores the choice in this browser, or switch on Global Privacy Control, which we honour automatically on every page and every later visit. Most browsers — Chrome included — have no Global Privacy Control setting, which is exactly why the link exists. Several browsers and extensions send GPC by default; you can also turn it on yourself. This is checked before anything loads, not afterwards. Nothing loads on a page that is not served from getthatjunkout.com either, so our own testing is never recorded as a visit.

Cookies these tools set. Google Analytics sets _ga and a related per-property cookie. Clarity sets _clck and _clsk, and it also reads or sets two Microsoft advertising identifiers, _uetvid and _uetmsclkid, which Microsoft uses across its own advertising products. The Meta Pixel sets _fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from a Facebook or Instagram ad. We name them because they exist, not because we use them: we have not linked Clarity to any advertising account, we run no remarketing audience from it, and we receive no advertising data back from it. If that ever changes, this policy will say so before it does. Declining is the same one step as everything else here — with GPC or Do Not Track on, none of these cookies are ever set, because the script that would set them is never loaded.

Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram advertising). This site carries the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., which we use for our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Unlike the two tools above, this one is advertising, not measurement, and we are not going to describe it as anything else. It tells Meta which pages you viewed here and whether you tapped call, text or book, so that we can measure which ads actually produce jobs and show our ads to people who looked but did not book. That is the “sharing” described above.

What it is not allowed to send. Meta’s pixel has a feature called Automatic Advanced Matching that reads form fields for email addresses and phone numbers and sends them to Meta as identifiers. We switch it off in code (autoConfig is set to false before the pixel starts), and every event this site sends is one we wrote out by name — nothing is collected automatically from your clicks or your typing. Meta receives no name, phone number, email address or service address from this website. Meta’s own handling of what it does receive is covered by its privacy policy. We also leave out the no-JavaScript fallback image that Meta’s standard installation includes, because that image would fire before the opt-out check below could stop it.

OpenAI / ChatGPT Ads conversion measurement. We do not load the OpenAI Measurement Pixel or any OpenAI tracking script in your browser. If measurement is allowed and your latest advertising touch came from a ChatGPT ad, we temporarily keep the opaque oppref click reference with your estimator record. Only after our business phone receives an inbound text containing that record’s quote reference, or after our booking platform confirms a quote-matched request or scheduled junk-removal job when that integration is active, may our server send OpenAI the oppref, a pseudonymous event ID, event type and time, the source page, and an action-source label of web or other. The phone number and message are processed only to resolve the quote reference and are not included in the OpenAI event. We currently send OpenAI no name, phone number, email address, service address, IP address, browser user-agent, obref, advertising-cookie identifier, contact hash, or optional user object. We also send no quote amount or revenue value. Every event is marked to prevent future user-level personalisation. OpenAI can use an eligible event for click-through attribution and, if that reporting is available to this account, a one-day view-through report; our campaign’s conversion count and optimization remain click-through based. OpenAI’s handling of conversion data is covered by its privacy policy and conversion terms.

Campaign and referrer attribution is otherwise first-party: it stays in your browser during the visit and is attached to our temporary estimator record only when you submit a handoff. The limited OpenAI server-side conversion described above is the only exception.

Where records are kept and for how long

The website temporarily stores estimator settings and job-scope notes with Netlify so they can be handed to our booking system; those temporary records are scheduled for deletion within 30 days. Booking, customer, photo, invoice, and job records are kept by our booking, customer-management, and related service providers only as long as reasonably needed to perform the service, keep accounting and safety records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of information that we are not required to retain.

Photos

Photos you send for a quote or booking are used to understand, schedule, document, and perform your service. We do not publish job photos in marketing unless you affirmatively give permission. Even with permission, we remove identifying details such as faces, addresses, house numbers, and license plates. You may ask us to delete non-required photos by calling or texting the number below; some service records may be retained when reasonably needed for payment, safety, dispute, insurance, or legal records.

Your California rights

California residents may request a copy of the personal information we hold about them, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Text or call (949) 991-5865 and we’ll handle the request within 30 days. We don’t discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights — the price and the service are the same either way.

The right to opt out of sharing for advertising. Because of the advertising measurement described above, you also have the right to tell us to stop. Three ways, all free: use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page for this browser and future estimator handoffs, switch on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honour automatically before anything loads, or text or call (949) 991-5865. If the request concerns an estimator record already submitted, include its quote reference so we can find and suppress it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly share or sell the personal information of anyone under 16.

Policy changes

If this policy changes, the revised version and effective date will be posted on this page. A material change in how information is used will be described before the new practice begins.
