Federal law (EPA Section 608) requires refrigerant recovery before a fridge, freezer, or AC unit can be scrapped. Our $30 freon surcharge covers certified recovery — the guys who don't charge it are venting it into the air, illegally.
Standard plug-in and water-line disconnections we handle. Gas appliances: have the line capped first (your plumber, or we can refer one) — we don't touch live gas.
